Why Boudoir?

Most women have reservations about doing boudoir. The women I have talked to always have some reason of why they shouldn’t do it yet. They will tell me “I’m not thin enough yet”, “I am not confident enough” or “I look too awkward in photos”. Whatever the reason, they usually don’t feel like they are enough yet at this point in their life.

When I decided to start shooting boudoir, I figured I would try taking my own photos, that way I could see what it felt like to pose and also learn what angles work best for boudoir. I was 1 month postpartum at the time (safe to say I was not at my most confident). I found myself shocked at how I looked and felt about my pictures. I felt beautiful for the first time in a while and after experiencing such good results I couldn’t wait to start helping other women feel this way.

My very first shoots did not disappoint, I was in love instantly! I would share what the shots looked like so my models would know that they are going to look amazing. Their responses said it all!! “Oh my God, look at me”, “Damn!” “That’s not me, that’s your camera skills”. Though I agree having the right photographer is important, these women looked amazing without me.

Boudoir has helped women celebrate their bodies, see their beauty through someone else’s eyes and find love in themselves. There are so many reasons to take boudoir pictures. Take them as a gift for your partner or a wedding gift to your fiancé. Take them for a birthday. Take them for YOURSELF. No matter your reason, you should do it, you won’t regret it.
